FiBytes is a platform to educate and connect domestic violence
survivors with the financial resources necessary to live a more
fulfilled life.
A platform dedicated to supporting financial education and literacy to empower domestic violence survivors to become financially liberated. We offer financial bits of information that are easy to access and implement so that users can become independent, support their families away from domestic abuse and acquire long-term wealth.
According to the report Violence Against Women Prevalence Estimates, 2018, published jointly by different components of the United Nations system, 1 in 3 women experience domestic violence globally. Financial abuse is a precursor to physical and emotional abuse that prevents survivors from leaving their dangerous households. Through bite size bits of financial information, we equip survivors with the confidence and skills change their path in a supportive environment and safe community.
SheBytes is the team behind the FiBytes project. We are a team of five women who are passionate about financial inclusion and the empowerment of women and men who find themselves in situations of domestic abusive and coercive.
